金家中在退伍后，于80年代中期在艺总画廊举办了“幕后花絮摄影展”，在摄影界引起了巨大反响，并在《月刊映像》等摄影专业杂志上连续10余年发表邀请作品和专栏文章。他的录像作品《金家中的裸体摄影教室》曾获得1996年韩国音像大奖技术奖。他还出演了《朱炳镇秀》（模特河英恩）等节目，并制作了韩国首部大型裸体电影《玛戈》，在大韩剧场上映。他还在俄罗斯组织了100余人乘坐包机、提供为期一周的住宿和观光，举办了国际裸体100人展。在DDP建设导致东大门运动场被拆除的最后一天，他以“发疯乱叫（填补土地发出光芒）”的行为艺术引发轰动

After completing his military service, Kim Gajoong held a "Making Photo Exhibition" at the Yechong Gallery in the mid-1980s, which shook the photography community. For over 10 years, his invited works and columns appeared in photography magazines such as Monthly Image. His video nude production, Kim Gajoong’s Nude Photography Classroom, won the Technical Award at the 1996 Korea Visual &Sound Awards. He appeared on shows such as The Joo Byung-jin Show (with model Ha Young-eun), and produced Mago, Korea’s first blockbuster all-nude film, which was screened at Daehan Theater. He chartered a plane with over 100 participants to Russia, offering a week of accommodation and sightseeing to host the International Nude 100 Exhibition. On the final day of the Dongdaemun Stadium demolition, prompted by the DDP construction, he caused a sensation with his performance titled Jiralbalgwang ("to fill the ground and shine").
