양정국 사진작가, 뉴욕전시에 이어 몰디브 국립 미술관 전시회
여름이 문턱에 와 있는 요즘 화랑가나 포토갤러리에서는 코로나19에도 불구하고 여러 전시회들이 진행되고 있다. 전시들은 예전과 같이 많은 사람들을 기대할 수 없지만 그래도 문화와 예술을 사랑하는 사람들의 발길은 막을 수가 없다. 이것은 우리나라뿐 아니라 해외에서도 마찬가지이다. 미국, 프랑스, 독일, 이탈리아, 터키, 영국 등 여러 국가에서 크고 작은 전시회들이 열리고 있다.
특히 지난 4월 미국 뉴욕에서 ‘Hero Art Project’라는 의미있는 전시회가 열렸었다. 이 전시회는 전 세계를 위험에 빠뜨린 코로나19로 인해 미국 내 환자들이 급격히 증가함에 따라 이들을 치료하기 위해 고군분투했던 의사와 간호사들이 환자들을 치료하던 중 안타깝게 코로나19에 역감염되어 사망하는 일이 벌어졌고, 이에 이들을 추모하고 그 희생과 사랑의 정신을 기리기 위해 예술가들이 의사와 간호사 한 사람 한 사람의 초상화를 그리거나 또는 사진 작업을 통해 감사의 마음을 전하는 국제전시회였다. 이 밖에도 프랑스에서는 여성의 날을 기념하는 국제전시회가 열리기도 하였다.
이렇게 큰 전시회들이 2021년 상반기 세계 곳곳에서 코로나19가 창궐한 가운데에서도 뜨거운 반응 속에서 열렸다. 하반기에도 어김없이 또 하나의 국제전시회가 열릴 예정인데, 인도양에 있는 남아시아 몰디브에서의 전시회가 그것이다. 국제적으로 잘 알려진 몰디브 국립 미술관은 National Art Gallery 국제전시회를 통해 다양한 예술 작품들을 선보일 예정이다.
세계 유수 작가들이 참여하는 이번 전시회에 파인아트 사진작가인 양정국 작가가 한국 작가로서 참여하게 된다. 양정국 사진작가는 사진의 독창적인 예술성을 알리고, 미술과 사진의 경계를 넘어 조화로운 구성을 통해 예술로서의 사진 세계를 펼치려는 아티스트이며 사진작가로 현재 활발하게 활동하고 있다. 전시는 2021년 7월 9일 ~ 13일까지이며 장소는 술탄 공원 (Sultan Park)에 위치한 수도 말레 (Malé)에 있는 몰디브 국립 미술관에서 열린다.

Maldives National Gallery Exhibition
Nowadays, with summer on the threshold, several exhibitions are being held at galleries and photo galleries despite the Corona 19. The exhibitions cannot expect as many people as they used to, but it cannot stop people who love culture and art from visiting. This is true not only in Korea but also abroad. Large and small exhibitions are being held in various countries such as the United States, France, Germany, Italy, Turkey and the United Kingdom.
In particular, a meaningful exhibition called ‘Hero Art Project’ was held in New York in April. As the number of patients in the United States rapidly increased due to COVID-19, which put the world at risk, doctors and nurses who were struggling to treat them unfortunately died from reverse infection of Corona 19 while treating patients. It was the international exhibition where artists painted portraits of doctors and nurses individually, expressing the gratitude through photography, to commemorate the spirit of sacrifice and love. In addition, an international exhibition commemorating Women's Day was held in France.
These large exhibitions were held in the first half of 2021 amidst the outbreak of COVID-19 around the world with a warm response. Another international exhibition is scheduled to be held in the second half of the year, one in the Maldives of South Asia in the Indian Ocean. The internationally well-known National Art Gallery of Maldives will present various works of art.
Fine art photographer Yang Chung-gook will participate as a Korean artist in this exhibition in which world-renowned artists participate. Photographer Yang Chung-gook is actively working as an artist and photographer who wants to promote the original artistry of photography and expand the world of photography as an art through harmonious composition that transcends the boundaries between art and photography. The exhibition runs from 9 to 13 July 2021 and is held at the Maldives National Museum of Art in the capital, Malé, located in Sultan Park. |
